Another Paris

Rainy Spring

It is always the same. When winter ends, Parisians start to go out, thinking that it’s already summer time. Concerts, bric-a-brac fairs, giant Easter egg hunt, all these activities might turn into a disaster at the last minute because of the weather.

For instance, at least four bric-a-brac fairs are held in east-side Paris this month. Some people I know are totally addicted to those second hand markets, and always fall in love with incredible objects they will never use. If it is your case, take your raincoat and enjoy yourself. The first sun beams might take you to the Barourcq and its deck chairs, on the canal.

Don’t worry, in case the weather is really bad, we also have some indoors events you might appreciate.

You and your kids will surely appreciate the Plan d’Avril festival, where cultural and entertainment activities are designed for all ages.

If you missed last week’s bal, Bringuebal’s orchestra will be back again, with a Robbery Party: watch your wallet! You also have the possibility to dance with the Julik ensemble, a lively mix of gypsy music, jazz and klezmer. If you need a big party, you might want to go to the Loco Club, where you will meet students from all over Europe.

An exhibition of photomontages will take you to New-York for a while, and make you forget about the coldness of Paris. (Though I assume the weather might not be better on the other side of the Atlantic). The “New Dance Group” is also there with an exhibition, a good way to discover this collective of american activist dancers.

If you need to do some exercise, you can either go skateboarding or ice-skating.

Have your say!
